About Linda

Linda FulkersonAfter attending Harding University and before choosing Arkansas as her permanent home, author/speaker Linda Fulkerson, 45, lived in eleven states and sampled a variety of vocations, including newspaper work, bookkeeping, dispatching at a trucking company, a nine-year stint in the United States Marine Corps, and houseparenting at a Christian children’s home. She currently serves as office manager for a large church.Linda developed a love for the written word during her years of newspaper typesetting, copy-editing, and proofreading. Since making the leap across the desk to the writer’s chair, she has had numerous articles published in area newspapers, including a guest editorial. Linda is a frequent contributor to Christian Woman magazine, The Home Visitor, and Arkansas Health & Living, and is a staff writer for ¡Hola! Arkansas, a statewide bilingual newspaper. She is the editor of a weekly newsletter, Our Reminder, which is published by the church where she works. Linda’s first book, The Prodigal Daughter: Hope for Runaway Christians and Those Who Await Their Return, was published in 2003 by Petit Jean Press. Linda has spent several years studying the craft of fiction writing and is working on a mystery novel. She is also a published songwriter.

Linda is a member of American Christian Writers (ACW), serves as the Arkansas Area Coordinator for American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), the Christian Writers Guild (CWG), and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. She is on the board of KaleidoscopeLive!, an annual auction to benefit Southern Christian Home, a residential facility for displaced children; publicity chairman of the steering committee for Conway County VISION 20/20, a community development foundation; and serves on the board of directors for the Morrilton Rotary Club. She and her husband Don raise Pygmy goats, heritage breed turkeys, African geese, and Muscovy ducks, and are members of the National Pygmy Goat Association. They also enjoy riding their Honda Goldwing with the River Valley Riders.

Linda enjoys spending time with her family and animals, hiking, reading, writing, and singing. She performs as a solo act at many local and regional festivals and sings with “The Fireside Quartet,” a gospel group, and a women’s ensemble. Linda and her family live on a 32-acre plot down a quiet road just north of Morrilton. She and Don have three daughters, one son, two sons-in-laws, and five grandchildren.
